Independence For Maggie
The project helped Maggie overcome the problems she faced due to her ataxia, whereby she was no longer able to use her feeding tube equipment due to the loss of feeling in her hands.
A cap opener was made to utilise the whole hand grip allowing Maggie to remove the feeding tube cap easily. A new more discrete peg tidy was also made to provide a more comfortable solution to the NHS provided peg tidy.

Fixperts is a worldwide competition where university students create a short film based on a project based around human centred design. The 2023 competition had a focus on ingenuity, empathy and innovation with a strong focus on independence, health, and social benefit.
